Intro to a Gay Friendly Christianity 2/25/13

We have all heard the (mis)use of the bible to bash the sexual minority communities and, as a result, more than a few people have trashed Christianity as hopelessly irrelevant at its best and irretrievably homophobic at its worst. But theologians know there are ways of reading the bible that are inclusive of everybody. Rev Bev will spend two hours on Monday, Feb. 25, 7- 9 p.m. reclaiming Christianity from those who proclaim they are right to "hate the sin but love the sinner". The class, which is at Hagan Hall at Lutheran Theological Seminary, 7400 Germantown Ave, Philadelphia, is open to anyone who wants to be informed enough to talk back on this issue. (Hagan Hall is the newest and most modern building on campus so easy to find but follow the signs.) The class is sponsored by the Mt Airy Learning Tree and pre-registration is required.    www.mtairylearningtree.org
